30 Day Challenge (completed…finally)

*Day Nine - What are your co-workers’/friends’/family’s reactions to your weight loss? Positive or negative?*

None. I don’t talk about it with anyone. It’s just too personal.

*Day Ten - Do you feel like you have given anything up over the course of this process? If yes, what is it, and how do you feel about making the sacrifice?*

The only thing I’ve given up is food. I’m sure I should say something important like…lunches with friends/co-workers but I haven’t. If I feel too deprived from the food I want, that’s the first thing that sends me to the grocery store at all hours hunting down chocolate covered donuts and little debbie cakes.

*Day Eleven - Promote your favorite fitblr! Why do you like their blog?*

*Day Twelve - Tell us what you ate today. Is this a typical meal plan for you? If not, what do you usually eat?*

2 cinnamon melts from McDonald’s and two small slices of pepperoni pizza from Dominos. So far. 

*Day Thirteen - What are you doing to lose weight? Are you in a program or doing it on your own? *

Doing it on my own. Trying to eat low cal and watch the fats and sugar. At least that’s what I plan to do when I can get dedicated again. Also, bought the Dukan Diet book as I read it’s a good way to jumpstart a diet and has good ideas for keeping weight off over time. We’ll see.

*Day Fourteen - What is your ultimate weight loss/fitness goal? Describe what made you choose this as your ultimate goal.*

To be 98 pounds. It’s in a normal, healthy range for my height and I’d love to have my weight match my height for once. 

*Day Fifteen - Are you vegan or vegetarian? If so, how has it affected your life, weight loss-related or otherwise? If not, would you ever consider it? Why or why not?*

Nope. I would love to be but don’t enjoy veggies that much and I enjoy fish & chicken. Not such a read meat person although I love a good grilled burger every once in a while. 

*Day Sixteen - What made you decide to get healthy?*

*Day Seventeen - Do you have an eating disorder? Have you ever been directly affected by an eating disorder, either yours or someone close to you? If so, tell us your story.*

I’ve diagnosed myself with the Over Eating disorder. When I get something good in front of me, I just can’t make myself stop until I hurt and then hurt some more. Also, I’m a very good emotional eater. Anything upsets me and I eat. Anything makes me feel good and I eat.

*Day Eighteen - What do you allow yourself to indulge in? Candy, cake, alcohol, etc.? Why did you choose this as your indulgence?*

Reeces Pieces, skittles, sweet tarts, sprees, little debbie swiss cake rolls, krispy kreme donuts (preferably chocolate glazed), pizza and breadsticks from Dominos, burgers & friers from burger king although that one is few and far between (honestly! really!), and fries with sweet tea from Zaxby’s (again few and far between), peanut butter (low fat) & crackers, diorites, mexican food (enchiladas, rice, chips & salsa/queso)

*Day Nineteen - Do you still eat fast food? If yes, what do you eat? If not, why don’t you eat fast food?*

If I do it’s pepperoni pizza from Domino’s (usually with breadsticks), double cheese burger with fries and chicken fries from Burger King, Chicken fingers and fries with sweet tea from Zaxby’s, Subway turkey/american cheese sandwich with baked chips or diorites

Except for the sweet tea from Zaxby’s I drink diet coke or sprite zero at home

*Day Twenty - If you have been on a weight-loss program, what is your favorite? If not, which one would you be on if you could?*

Nah…I’m not big on following rules

*Day Twenty-One - What is your favorite outfit? Why is it your favorite? Post a picture of you in it!*

I don’t have one. At work I wear black pants with whatever top fits that morning and doesn’t make me cry before walking out the door. Not at work, I’m found in jeans that don’t really fit because my legs are too short for my size and a tshirt. Being fat kinda makes me hate clothes.

*Day Twenty-Two - At what weight did you feel the happiest? Why?*

I’ve been overweight my entire life so….none? When I lose a pound or so I always feel good but it doesn’t last long because I wish it were more and I wish I didn’t have so far to go.

*Day Twenty-Three - How does the media influence your drive to lose weight?*

If I thought long and hard I’m sure I could answer this but I don’t want to. Sure I see skinny people in mags and on TV and I want to look like them…but I’m pretty sure there are parts of their lives that I don’t want so I don’t let it get to me too much. 

*Day Twenty-Four - How do you feel about the “pro-ana” and “thinspo” community of weight loss on tumblr?*

No opinion. To each their own. I’m certainly not healthy…physically or mentally so who am I to judge what others like?

*Day Twenty-Five - What is a type of workout that you never expected to enjoy but now love?*

Years ago I really enjoyed the elliptical but now I’m so unfit and unhealthy that I’m barely breathing within a few minutes (not to mention my legs want to walk away from me)

*Day Twenty-Six - What keeps you motivated? Where do you find positive influences?*

I wish I could keep motivated! I’m still trying to figure that out myself

Positive influences? E from One-Twenty-Five certainly falls into this category. I’m constantly looking for others but it’s hard to find. 

*Day Twenty-Seven - Are other people in your life trying to get healthy/living healthy? How do you handle being around others who do not ascribe to/support your lifestyle?*

Nope. The girls at work (who are already perfectly built) are always talking about how fat they are and how they shouldn’t eat anything but salad and I know in their own way that’s wrong…but I keep my mouth shut. I can’t imagine what they think of me and my eating habits.

*Day Twenty-Eight - What part of your body are the most proud of? Show it off with a picture!*

None. Seriously. I guess my eyes but I didn’t do anything to make them what they are so I can’t be proud really. I have decent hair even if it’s way too thin.

*Day Twenty-Nine - What is your definition of beauty?*

Sun-kissed and natural. Those women who seem to do this with no effort should be studied by science.

30 Day Challenge

I’m a little behind so I’m playing catch up…

*Day Five - Why do you really want to lose this weight? Who are you doing this for?*

I’m doing this for me. And, I’m doing it for purely shallow reasons. I want to be comfortable in the heat of summer. I want to wear shorts and flip flops and have tan legs. I want to stop filling/over flowing seats in public (buses, airplanes, etc.) I want to buy pretty bras and dresses. To feel like I’m not being stared at every time I go outside my house. I want to know if I have cheekbones and what it’s like to wear clothes in a single digit size. So. Many. Reasons.

*Day Six - Do you have any disordered eating habits? How do you overcome/cope with them?*

Nothing official. But I know I’m an extreme emotional eater and extreme overeater. I don’t deal with them well…thus the being fat and needing to lose weight. 

*Day Seven - Who knows about your weight loss journey? What do they think about it?*

My parents know I’m trying and are being as supportive as they can be. I’m an extremely private person so they know not to talk to me about it much but they still try. They say things like “I can really see the difference” and I give them a glare and they stop. Some folks at work have figured out I’m trying to eat healthier but I haven’t told anyone or anything.

No one knows about this blog. 

*Day Eight - Your workout routine*

I have none. I really need to create one but I’m super damn lazy. I have an elliptical in my house and several work out DVDs…it’s just a matter of forcing myself to do it when my back isn’t hurting.

The only fear I have is not being able to lose the weight. Trying, trying and trying and nothing ever happening. Being stuck in this miserable body for the rest of my life.

30 Day Challenge

(no big shock but I totally forgot this yesterday so I’m doing 2 days in 1 here) 

*Day Two: What is your height? How do you feel about your height?* 

I’m 4’11” and I love it. People call me cute and tiny because I’m so much shorter than them and I’ll take a compliment anyway I can get it…because lets be honest. They are few and far between.

*Day Three: A picture of one of your rewards. Why is this a reward? At what point will you “earn” this reward?*

This is hard to answer because I’m not big on rewards. I’m one of those people who want what I want, when I want it, and I don’t like to wait…no matter the reason. So, if I want to buy something (and I have the money) I do so. I’m guessing if anything…I’d like to have my hair colored a dark chocolate brown. I could do it myself at home (have before) but it’s such a beating and a mess (at least for me) so why bother. Maybe that will be my reward! Going to a salon and having my hair trimmed up and colored. Maybe when I get below 200 lbs? What do you think? :)

30 Day Challenge!

*Day One - Starting Weight/Measurements + Brief Introduction with a picture!*

So, yeah. I don’t do pictures. Sorry. (It’s embarrassing for obvious reasons and I don’t like facing my fat in pictures)

My starting weight (2 years ago this week) was 237 pounds - figured by my Wii Fit, not an actual scale so I’m not 100% sure how accurate that weight was. 

I’ve tried multiple times to get my measurements but I’m just no good at making sure I measure the same place…I get different numbers each time. So, I gave up.

I’m not good at introducing myself as I have no clue what anyone would want/like to know so please feel free to ask anything you’d like. I’m in my early 30’s and have been overweight/obese my entire life. I remember weighing 151 in junior high (11-13 years old) and that was way too much then. I’m 4’11 so I need to lose a lot of weight and yes, if/when it happens I’ll be about the size of a 10 year old. I’m really not sure how I feel about that. I’m a woman…don’t really want to look like a child but the idea of being tiny and people thinking I’m cute….kinda exciting you know?
